City Utilities has provided the following information about the utility construction on Seminole Street from Roanoke Avenue to Kings Avenue -
My name is Jake Wilcox, and I work in the Natural Gas and Water Engineering Department at City Utilities. Thank you for reaching out regarding concerns about the project on Seminole Street from Roanoke Avenue to Kings Avenue.
Our standard notification process is to send advance notice letters to property owners directly along the affected renewal route prior to the start of construction. While this has been our standard practice, I understand the value of notifying the broader community as well. I will work with our design team to review and improve our notification procedures so that neighborhood associations are informed when appropriate.
This project is a City Utilities gas and water infrastructure renewal project consisting of approximately 3,000 feet of gas main replacement and 2,800 feet of water main replacement, along with associated gas and water service renewals for applicable properties along the route. The purpose of the project is to replace aging infrastructure and help ensure reliable service for years to come.
The project began on April 13, 2026, and is currently scheduled for completion by October 1, 2026. I spoke with the project inspector and he indicated that construction is progressing ahead of schedule. Barring any unforeseen delays, it is possible that the project could be completed before the end of August.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jake Wilcox
