To help inform voters, Springfield's Neighborhood Advisory Council will host a city council candidate forum on March 7, 2023, at 6 p.m. at National Avenue Christian Church, 1515 S National Ave. The candidates' forum is meant to inform the citizens of our community and create an opportunity for community building. Each candidate will have an equal and fair opportunity to express his or her position on each question or issue posed to them. The forum is planned to last 90 minutes.

The voter registration deadline is March 8, 2023, to be eligible to vote in the upcoming April 4 election for Springfield city council and Springfield public school candidates and issues.

The Greene County Clerk is responsible for all voter registration activities in the county. Several locations are designated as permanent voter registration sites, including schools, libraries, colleges and universities, city halls, and the Historic Courthouse (Room 114).

The City of Springfield along with APD Urban Planning & Management invites residents to participate in a community meeting for the city-wide housing assessment. The purpose of this initiative is to create a detailed housing database that provides information about housing conditions, unit counts, affordability, and overall neighborhood characteristics. This will be an opportunity for residents to learn about the state of housing and provide information about their experiences living in Springfield.
